My Working Experience in Sales

Everyone has a different working experience, and every job teaches us something new. My working experience has also been an important part of my personal and professional growth. My first job was as a Sales Executive, where I used to sell YouTube thumbnails, logos, and emotes.
I worked there for 3 months, and although it was my first job, I learned many useful things about sales, customer dealing, communication, teamwork, and professionalism.
Starting My Career as a Sales Executive
I got my first job through a reference from my father’s friend. I worked as a Sales Executive for a company that provided YouTube thumbnails, logos, and emotes.
My main work was to sell these services to customers online. We used platforms like Discord, Instagram, and X to find and communicate with potential customers.
My job was to show customers the company’s work and offer them our services at reasonable prices. There was no specific sales target. Instead, I earned a commission on every sale I made.
This was my first experience in sales, and it helped me understand how important sales are for a business.
My Daily Sales and Customer Routine
My daily routine was quite simple. I would get to work and start chatting with clients and potential customers. I would show them our work, answer their questions, and try to understand what type of design they needed.
I also helped my fellows whenever they needed assistance. We would share our experiences and help each other with chatting and client communication.
There were also breaks during the day, which helped us refresh ourselves and continue our work with better focus.
My First Successful Sale

One of the most memorable moments of my first job was making my first sale.
I found a gaming client through Instagram. The client wanted both a thumbnail and a logo. I showed the client our work, and after seeing it, the client decided to buy both services.
I was very happy and proud when I made that sale because it was my first successful sale.
After that, I made many more sales. This experience gave me confidence and helped me understand that good communication and properly presenting a service can help turn a potential customer into a real customer.
Learning Customer Dealing and Sales
Customer dealing was one of the most important things I learned from this job.
I learned how to fulfill clients’ requirements and how to communicate with them properly. Every customer was different, so I had to understand what they wanted and make sure their requirements were properly understood.
I also learned to be polite, patient, and professional while talking to customers.
This helped me understand that sales are not only about selling something. You also need to understand the customer and build trust through good communication.
The Importance of Professionalism in Sales
Another important lesson I learned was the importance of professionalism.
When dealing with customers, it is important to be friendly but also professional. I learned how to communicate with customers while maintaining professional boundaries.
Being professional can create a better experience for the customer and can also help build a good relationship with them.
Challenges I Faced in Sales
Like every job, I also faced some challenges.
One of the biggest challenges was time management. I had to manage different conversations and customers while making sure I completed my work properly.
Sometimes customers ignored me or refused the offer. Some customers also had difficult or changing requirements.
There was also a potential customer who had payment issues, so the sale could not move forward.
These experiences taught me that not every customer will become a sale. The important thing is to learn from your mistakes and try not to repeat them.
How Leadership Supported Our Sales Team
My team leader was very supportive, kind, and helpful. Whenever we needed help, he was there to guide us.
From him, I learned that a good leader should help their team and prioritize the team before themselves.
This experience also showed me how important good leadership can be for a sales team and a business.
Teamwork and Sales Success
My coworkers and fellows also played an important role in my experience.
We shared our experiences and helped each other with chatting and client communication. Everyone helped each other whenever someone needed support.
Working with others taught me that teamwork is important, especially in sales, where sharing experiences and communication techniques can help everyone improve.
Sales Skills I Developed
My first job helped me develop many skills, especially:
- Communication skills
- Customer dealing
- Confidence
- Patience
- Teamwork
- Time management
- Professionalism
The biggest improvement I noticed was in my chatting and communication skills. Talking with different customers every day helped me become more confident when communicating with people.
How Sales Experience Changed Me
My first job changed the way I looked at work and business.
Before starting the job, I did not have much experience dealing with customers or making sales. After working there, I understood how important communication, patience, customer requirements, and professionalism are.
My first sale also gave me confidence that I could communicate with customers and successfully sell a service.
Why I Left My First Sales Job
After working there for 3 months, I left the job because of personal issues.
Even though I only worked there for three months, I gained valuable experience that helped me in my future work.
Continuing My Sales Journey
After leaving my first job, I continued working and did more jobs, including another YouTube-related job.
Every job gave me a different experience and taught me something new. My first sales job especially helped me understand customers and the sales process.
What Sales Taught Me About Business
This experience taught me that working hard can help grow any business you start.
I learned that a business needs good communication with customers and needs to understand what customers want.
Sales also taught me that rejection is normal. Not every person will buy your service, but every conversation can teach you something that can help you improve.
If you understand your customers, communicate properly, provide value, and stay professional, you can create better opportunities for sales and business growth.
Sales Lessons I Still Carry With Me
The biggest lesson I learned from my working experience is to never give up.
There will always be customers who refuse, difficult situations, and mistakes. Instead of giving up, we should learn from these experiences and continue improving.
My experience taught me to focus on my work, communicate professionally, understand customers, and always try to improve my skills.
Final Thoughts on My Sales Experience
My first job as a Sales Executive was an important part of my working experience. In just three months, I learned about sales, customer dealing, communication, teamwork, time management, and professionalism.
My first sale gave me confidence, while the difficult customers and rejected offers taught me patience.
I believe all of these experiences will help me in my future career and in any business I start.
Never give up and focus on your work with professionalism.
